One game is not always the series.
Identify the video game, tournament, map or game number and series format. Esports is a collection of competitive titles with different rules.
Read the guideWinning one game does not necessarily win a series. A best-of-three is decided when one side reaches two game wins.
- Series
- A match that can contain multiple games or maps.
- Map / game
- A unit of competition within the series.
- Roster
- The players representing a team for the event.
Identify the competitive title.
Esports includes different video games with different objectives, scoring systems and tournament structures. A team name alone does not identify the sport or event. Check the game title, tournament, scheduled opponents and series stage together before reading a market or result.
Distinguish a game from a series.
A best-of-three series can require two game wins, while another stage may use a different format. A map or game result therefore does not necessarily settle the overall series. Numbered-game descriptions and full-series descriptions refer to different scopes. Tournament rules establish the actual format.
Read interruption and roster rules.
Technical pauses, remakes, roster changes and forfeits are part of the event context. Their treatment in a market depends on the provider’s settlement rules. Confirm whether a result is official and which game number is being described. This guide does not provide live schedules or claim that every esports title is available on KK8.
For practical questions, read the terms guide or contact guide. Provider brands are listed separately in the provider directory.
Questions, answered.
Are a map winner and series winner the same thing?
No. A map or game is one unit within the competition. The series result depends on the stated format and can include several units.
Does this esports guide show live availability?
This is an editorial guide to esports. It does not show a live catalogue, table list or fixture feed. Check the current official lobby for availability and the selected version’s rules.
