Notice when gambling is becoming a problem

Gambling is not a way to earn a reliable income or solve a money problem. Winning before does not make another win due, and a losing session cannot be made safe by spending more. You do not need to wait for a crisis before asking for help.

  • Spending more time or money than you intended.
  • Trying to win back losses or borrowing to continue.
  • Hiding activity, losses or debts from people close to you.
  • Feeling unable to stop despite wanting a break.
  • Gambling affecting sleep, work, family or essential expenses.

These examples are prompts for reflection, not a diagnostic test. If any feels familiar, taking a break and speaking with a trained support service can be a useful next step.

Make a break practical

Stop the current session and step away from the app or website. Turn off promotional notifications and avoid following offers while taking a break. Tell someone you trust what you are trying to do, especially if you are finding it difficult to stop alone.

If you choose to set limits, decide on money and time boundaries beforehand. Keep rent, bills, savings and borrowed money out of gambling funds. Do not raise a limit during a session or treat a promotion as a reason to continue. A limit can support a boundary, but it does not eliminate gambling risk.

Ask about account restrictions

Ask platform support about the current options for cooling off, restricting access or closing an account. This guide has not verified a specific KK8 self-exclusion or deposit-limit feature. Request written confirmation of what a restriction covers and when it takes effect.

NCPG also provides information about self-exclusions and visit limits for the gambling services covered by its schemes. Do not assume an NCPG exclusion automatically blocks KK8 or every online website. Check the scope of the relevant scheme and discuss other access barriers with a support professional.

For account administration, use the KK8 contact guide. For independent help with gambling harm, contact NCPG. This website cannot apply an exclusion or place a restriction on your account.

If you are worried about someone else

Choose a calm time to talk about what you have noticed: missed bills, changes in behaviour or the effect on your household. Focus on those effects and on getting support together. You do not need to prove a diagnosis to contact a helpline.

Protect access to essential household money and seek advice before covering gambling debts. Avoid sharing your bank account, passwords or credit to enable further gambling. NCPG has information for families, including family exclusion and visit-limit processes where applicable.

Support is also for you. If another person’s gambling is affecting your wellbeing or finances, describe your own situation when you contact the service. Ask which support and referral options fit your needs.

Age restrictions and access

Keep gambling accounts and devices inaccessible to children. Do not share logins or allow another person to play through your account. The platform’s saved terms contain an age condition and require compliance with the laws that apply to the user; an age badge is not evidence that a service is authorised in a particular country.

This page provides support information, not legal advice or an assessment of the platform’s regulatory status. Our security guide explains how to protect account access and respond to suspicious contacts.

Common questions

Can I get help if I am worried about a family member?

Yes. NCPG provides information and help channels for individuals and families. Contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1800-6-668-668 or use the NCPG website for current support options.

Does an NCPG exclusion automatically block KK8?

Do not assume so. NCPG schemes have a defined scope. Check the relevant scheme and ask the platform separately about account restrictions; this guide has not verified a KK8 self-exclusion feature.

Is the NCPG helpline open all day?

NCPG publishes helpline and webchat hours of 8am to 11pm daily. Check its website for current service information.
